How To Get Creative With 30-Second Commercials

 

In our last blog, we shared 5 tips on how to create your 30-second commercial for your business. Today, we’re going to look at creative ways to keep your commercials interesting.

There are key elements you’ll still use like your name, business name, and tag line. And you want to continue to practice for both smooth delivery and staying within your time limit. Beyond that, it’s time to get creative. Maybe you change it up for holidays, or you have variations that focus on different aspects of your business. What about 30-second commercials for different target audiences?

Here are some ideas that engage and generate interest:

30-Second Stories

Does your business help solve problems for your customers? Of course it does! Think about a specific customer’s problem you solved recently. Summarize the problem they were facing, how they felt when they came to you, and the results they experienced.

Example: “Hi, I’m John with Save-You-Money Insurance. Last week, I had a client call me in a panic. Her teenage son was in a minor auto accident and she couldn’t remember if they had towing coverage, medical coverage, or repair assistance with their policy. I quickly pulled up her policy, explained what she had, and recommended a local towing and repair company she could call. She was so happy she brought me a plate of homemade cookies yesterday! At Save-You-Money Insurance, we care for our customers from start to finish.

Holiday Surprises

Weave holiday fun into your 30-second commercials. Maybe you can use a familiar holiday jingle and rewrite some of the words to represent your business. Try tugging at their hearts for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as you reminisce about a special gift or time you shared so they want to buy your product or service to do something similar. Think about what makes an upcoming holiday meaningful and build your commercial around that.

30-Second Targets

Your business may be looking for a particular kind of new customer or expanding a group you currently have. Talk about your ideal customer and how your product/service would improve their lives once they’ve used it. Paint a picture with words so that the networking group or person you’re speaking to can bring that person to mind from their list of people they know.

Showcase Your Solutions

Are you offering specials, discounts, a contest, or new items – anything that you want people to sit up and get excited about? Do you want to show your appreciation to past customers with a free upgrade or bonus item? People love a good deal and may use it for themselves and tell someone else about it, too.
